Our designs always incorporate green thinking.  If a motor doesn't need to run, it times out or "goes to sleep".  It will restart for many reasons, including data flow, host messaging, arrival of product upstream, etc.

Our ASRS system designs include taking advantage of motor regeneration.  When a moving load is brought to a controlled stop, the moment of inertia drives a motor to turn into a generator.  We take this surplus power and dump it to a DC bus for other motors to use.
